A Review of the Paleo Diet

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

I've been hearing a lot about the Paleo Diet (also known as the Paleolithic Diet, or Caveman Diet) lately, so I thought I'd check into it and see what it's all about. Here's my review on this new diet fad that's sweeping the nation.

A Review of the Paleo Diet

The idea behind the Paleo Diet is that ancient people ate natural foods, and were leaner and healthier than we are today, with our myriad of modern diseases such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer. The kind of diet they ate was high in raw plants, fruits, vegetables, and meat. They, of course, did not eat all the suedo-foods we find in the grocery stores today, full of refined starches, chemicals, and preservatives.

Some people argue that ancient people were not healthier than we are today, and it's true that some cultures ate more "refined foods" and had more health problems to show for it, or just didn't have the foods available to make healthy choices, but most traditional cultures all over the world did have an ancient wisdom about their food and lifestyle choices. The Weston A. Price Foundation has tons of scientific research that backs up the idea of the health of ancient and traditional diets versus the modern diet.

The Paleo Diet argues that farming and the foods it produces, as well as food processing, the cornerstones of the modern diet, are the enemies of health. The Paleo Diet believes in cutting out milk, grains, beans and potatoes, as well as modern processed foods.

I disagree with some of this and believe instead that modern farming practices, such as striping the soil of natural nutrients and adding chemical fertilizers, pesticides and weed killers, not to mention franken-foods and gmo's are the true enemies of health today. Traditional farming, as practiced by most cultures for centuries (and organic and bio-dynamic farming today) produces very healthy foods to eat.

Of course, I agree that modern food processing, which kills live food and strips away any nutrients that are left, and then adds even more chemicals such as preservatives, hydrogenated oils, and synthetic vitamins, does indeed produce food that is unhealthy and should be avoided.

I also disagree with the Paleo Diet about avoiding milk and milk products. Certainly the over processed, homogenized, pasteurized dead milk you find in the grocery store is unhealthy, and should be avoided. But raw milk and raw milk products from reputable organic grass-fed dairy farms are wonderful additions to any diet.

The idea that we should be go back to eating a more natural diet, like our ancestors did, is not really a new idea at all. I've been preaching a similar diet for almost 10 years now with my Enzyme Health Diet Plan and my Coconut Oil Diet website. The Weston A. Price Foundation has tons of scientific research that backs up the idea of the health of ancient and traditional diets versus the modern diet.

Lose Weight the Cave Man Style

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

Never underestimate the basics! Primal living takes a whole lot more than what it meets the eye. Prehistoric humans ate food only when they are able to hunt down wild-animals and gather edible plants, which are basically fruits and vegetables. Nothing synthetic or artificial substances were taken up as part of their food pyramid. All is natural and organic. Such ways of food lifestyle brings forth a diet plan inspired by imitating a prehistoric way of eating, called, the Paleo Diet. Paleo Diet is also called the Cave man Diet, the Evolutionary Diet and oddly, the Dinosaur Diet.

Lose Weight the Cave Man Style

Paleo Diet is mainly based on the food lifestyle of these prehistoric humans. Paleo Diet, a much healthier diet where food is purely based on meats, fruits and vegetables. It principally holds down the idea that what we eat is what we've become. The more we ate processed foods the more we become unhealthy, eating such foods cause a lot of implications that turns out into terrible diseases. By aping the food group eaten by the cave men, it mainly brings us closer to a more natural way of eating, bringing a healthier outcome to a man's body.

Paleo Recipe-List

Paleo Diet, what is not eaten by these prehistoric ancestors is out from your own the food list. On the food list, includes only, meats, eggs, seafood, fruits and vegetables that are only gathered naturally but not cultivated. It looks likely offbeat eating without the energy-giving food group but what is really eaten by ancestors is what we mimic through this diet. Grains, rice, pasta and dairies are restricted all throughout the diet. Carbohydrates may only be obtained only in eating vegetables.

Oils can only be gain out from non-agricultural raised seeds, such as, avocados, olive, oil palm and coconuts. Meats that are eaten should also be lean, raised only in non-agricultural manner or preferably grass-fed animals, these are better off than eating those who are commercially fed. Fish and other seafood should be caught wildly rather than in cultured pens.

As for beverages, water is the only beverage allowed but organic tea leaves are also considered. Alcohol consumption and fruit juices are eliminated from the diet. Fruit juices are eliminated due to their concentrated fructose, glucose and sugar contents which is basically not a Paleolithic way. Salt is also removed from the diet; no salt is used during the prehistoric times. Anything related to excessive sweets and sugars are also not welcomed.

Do the hunting yourself!

It's not basically you go out hunting for your own food in today's modernized era but rather copying the active lifestyle of these prehistoric ancestral hunters. They go out fishing, hunting and walk for days in search for food. As a substitute for hunting food, you can walk, jog and do several exercises equivalent that to a caveman's hunting activity. The point of this is that do not rely too much on a low-caloric diet but walking out those sexy legs would just be a whole lot better than doing nothing.

Back-to-the-Basics

Paleo Diet, is not just an ordinary diet. It takes out a lot of modern-based agricultural foods and it takes a lot of guts in eliminating them from your diet. Purely are based on foods can be hunted and gathered. It is a low-caloric diet and highly nutritious considering vitamins and minerals present in the organic meat, fruits and vegetables. Taking additional food supplements is highly not considered since it is a non-Paleolithic way. Sticking to the basics is basically what this diet is all about.

Paleo Diet is also a lifestyle change. The more basic your food lifestyle is, the more it is healthier. Looking up to the ancestors who were free of artificial food products and living life the simpler way models out this amazing ancestral diet.

Your 'New' Old Fashioned Diet - Paleo Recipies

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

Living the 'Old Fashioned' Way

Your 'New' Old Fashioned Diet - Paleo Recipies

Great grandma baked her own bread and grew her own vegetables. She canned what she grew for winter's consumption and when there was chicken for dinner, it came from the shed in the back yard. She didn't have a huge grocery bill because she made all the food from things she raised and grew. She raised chickens for their meat and eggs. The family cow provided her with milk, cream and butter. The children were sent to the woods for blueberries for pies. An apple tree and maybe a peach or pear tree also provided the ingredients for pies and jam. If she needed pocket money, she sold some of the eggs or vegetables she didn't need.

Grandma never dieted a day in her life. She had no 'labor-saving' devices and had to prepare all the meals from scratch. She also maintained a slim figure well into old age. By her standards, we have it soooo easy.

And because we have it easy, we eat too much, we don't get enough exercise, and we complain all the time.

When I was in my 20's and 30's I could eat several thousand calories a day and still lose weight. Today I have to watch every mouthful and I still have trouble with my weight. This isn't only because I exercise less, but most of the food I purchase has been processed in one or more ways.

Cattle and chickens are fed processed feeds; plants are chemically fertilized and fruit and vegetables picked long before they are ripe, and then exposed to gasses to ripen them.

When was the last time you had a peach or an apple as large as a softball... juicy and flavorful; or an orange picked from the tree in the evening and refrigerated, squeezed in the morning for breakfast. Salad picked fresh from the garden, tomatoes still warm from the sun. Sweet corn should be eaten within 12 hours of being picked, preferably it should be picked and eaten within 6 hours. How long before you bought your corn do you imagine it was picked? Out of season it could have been 2 or more days... all the nutrients are gone.

Farm stands offer an alternative to the supermarket. The vegetables are naturally grown and you can purchase as much or as little as you need. For the shopper who wants the best quality early morning is the best time to buy. There's no substitute for fresh sweet corn on the cob.

Today you can also find plans for a 'pocket garden' on your patio or porch. Hanging planters and window boxes offer a way to provide some fresh vegetables for the city dweller. Gardens can provide not only beauty but health as well.

I have found some ideas that you could use to improve your diet and health. For those of you that have never tried growing vegetables, a new experience awaits you. And if you don't succeed at first... try again. It's worth it... trust me.

Losing Weight With Paleo Diet

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

Losing weight has never really been a walk in the park. Even though one would feel guilty in indulging in a tub of ice cream while chatting up with friends, enjoying cup noodles and canned goods when you are too lazy to cook or eating pizza after a day's work; giving up all those sinful foods seems to be completely and utterly impossible. Processed foods, dairy products and all other foodstuff with refined sugar and too much salt clearly has become a part of our daily diet and preferred food nowadays.

Losing Weight With Paleo Diet

You can burn a minute amount of calories by simply sitting and contemplating on how you are going to lose weight, since your brain needs glucose to function or you can just surrender yourself to a very exigent workout plan. However, it will take a lot of willpower to control yourself from eating.

It is a natural instinct, to hunt for food when one's stomach is growling. Wouldn't it be nice to just eat whatever we crave for and not worry about gaining weight? To eat to your heart's content and not fret about all the fat deposits that might clog at your arteries and other cardiovascular diseases, excessive sugar that might lead to diabetes and all the other conditions which appears to be plaguing us these days? Like what our ancestors did ages ago.

Did you ever wonder why they were so fit and agile, and fully capable of hunting for food and living out the past in a dingy cave and still able to create a history? Why they were able to live longer even though they were just feeding on wild animals, nuts, fruits and herbs? Well, the answer lies in the quality of their foods. They had no additives, refined foods or unnatural sugars in their diet to disrupt their metabolism.

Apparently, some people believe that losing weight without actually starving yourself is preposterous and too good to be true. And that's where Paleo Diet comes into play. It is a plan based on our ancestor's diet during the Paleolithic era, hence the name. There are actually various recipes and cookbooks about Paleo diet available that might prove how beneficial it is to your health if you plan to lose weight without restricting food altogether.

People from the Stone Age survived without burgers, pasta, processed oils and other additives and they seemed to hold out just fine. So, if they can successfully pull that off, can't you?

The Paleo Diet: Getting Eaten by a Lion and Losing Weight

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

It's gone by a variety of names (the Paleolithic diet, the Caveman diet, or simply the Paleo diet). By any name and in any of its forms, though, the Paleo diet has become increasingly popular and also increasingly ridiculed.

The Paleo Diet: Getting Eaten by a Lion and Losing Weight

It's not uncommon to hear critics say that the Paleolithic diet is a "fad" or simply weird or ridiculous. However, despite all of the criticism, more and more people are adopting the diet. In addition, a growing body scientific research supports and underpins the core principles that make up the Paleo diet.

What, then, are the core principles of the Paleo diet and lifestyle? And why have so many people chosen to adopt it?

A. The Food (the Diet)

Although many experts emphasize the need for change in various aspects of the modern lifestyle (stress, sleep, exercise, etc.), Paleo is first and foremost a diet centered around food choices.

The core dietary principle of Paleo is that modern humans should attempt to eat more like our 'cavemen' ancestors. No matter where your ancestors originated from, it wasn't until pretty recently that humans were able to eat certain foods. For most of human existence, foods such as processed sugar, as well as wheat, rice, and other grains were not able to be eaten by humans.

The primary problem with eating these foods is that the human body never evolved to digest these foods very well. And because we can't digest the foods very well, they can cause a lot of problems in our body, especially if we eat these foods for a long time. Prolonged ingestion of these foods can often lead to long term illnesses, such as heart disease, Alzheimer's, and diabetes. Highly processed grains and sugars (such as cakes, cookies, breads, and sodas) are particularly bad and are highly discouraged by experts.

What should someone eat if they want to adopt a Paleo diet?

Basically, most experts encourage us to eat a lot of unprocessed meats and vegetables (especially green leafy ones), along with small amount of fruit and nuts. If you think about it, these recommendations are not all that surprising - after all, how many people really think that cakes, cookies, breads, and sodas are particularly healthy? Very few of our mothers or grandmothers would have encouraged us to eat our bread and soda at every meal.

One of the main complaints about the Paleolithic diet is that preparing unprocessed meats and vegetables can take a lot of time. After all, we don't actually live in the Paleolithic area, where our primary concerns would be hunting and gathering food and escaping predators. We all have high-stress jobs and kids to take to soccer practice.

That's why many Paleo diet practitioners adopt a more flexible diet. If you're able to cook your own food every day, then kudos! However, if you don't have the time, then there are more and more ready-made "Paleo" products being made available for purchase. These products range from cereals to diet drinks. As the diet grows in popularity, more and more of these products are becoming available.

B. Exercise (and Movement)

Besides the dietary aspect of Paleo, most experts recommend also trying to be more like our ancient ancestors in terms of exercise.

In particular, our ancestors rarely sat in one place for very long - very unlike we modern humans do for 8 or 10 hours in our office jobs. When possible, Paleo practitioners try to move around more during the day, rather than sitting for a prolonged period of time. Unfortunately, this is one of the aspects of the Paleolithic lifestyle that is the most difficult to actually implement, since most of our bosses wouldn't appreciate us getting up from our desk every half-hour to stretch, walk around, and do a few squats.

Although many of us can't adopt that aspect of the lifestyle, there is another aspect that is easier to fit in. If you picture life in the Paleolithic Era, then it probably involves images of running from lions and bears and also images of chasing and hunting deer and wild boar (or similar animals). The common theme to these activities is that they required our ancestors to exert a lot of energy and strength in a short period of time. These activities didn't require our ancestors to run for an hour or to be continuously exercising all day.

Many Paleo dieters seek to replicate this sporadically but intensely active aspect of our ancestors' lifestyle. One way that this is done is through a program known as "CrossFit." CrossFit is a brief, high intensity workout involving a lot of strength training and emphasizing "natural" movements. Many of the movements involved in CrossFit workouts seek to imitate the movements often performed by humans in a natural environment (i.e., not sitting in an office chair!).

CrossFit exercises are very diverse, but some examples include pull-ups, squats, and deadlifts. In each case, our ancestors probably didn't do these exact exercises, but the exercises approximate movements that they did do. If our ancestor wanted an apple or coconut high in a tree, they probably had to pull themselves up the tree to get it. If they wanted to move a big rock or create a temporary shelter, they needed to be able to push heavy objects around to do it. Likewise, if they killed an antelope and actually wanted to get it back to where the rest of their tribe was, they were going to have to lift it off the ground in order to carry it.

Conversely, although our ancestors were in pretty good shape and could probably jog for quite a while, it's unlikely that they did so particularly often. One doesn't "jog" away from a dangerous animal or after a fast-moving meal. In addition, continuous work-outs that take several hours and occur several times a week can cause severe inflammation in our bodies and often lead to overuse injuries.

C. Stress

Weren't our ancient ancestors stressed? Surely when a hungry lion wandered by, our ancestors got a little worried, right?

Of course our ancestors got stressed. However, it was most often what's called "acute" stress. In other words, the stress was severe, but it was very short-lived. Either you got away from the lion or it ate you. Either way, you weren't stressed for very long.

Experts emphasize that the modern human faces a lot more "chronic" stress. We may not be quite as worried about our job or our bills as we would be about seeing a hungry lion, but the stress our jobs and bills cause never ends. Having this sort of chronic stress actually does physical damage to our bodies because of the hormones that constantly get released as a result. Like the dietary advice, this is not particularly surprising, since most of us know that we feel much worse physically during times when we're constantly stressed.

Getting rid of the chronic stress is the hardest part, but many Paleolithic practitioners find that eating better, exercising well, and just paying attention to what stresses them help to begin relieving some of that chronic stress.

D. Sleep

Most cavemen slept a healthy 9 hours while the sun was down. After all, it's pretty dangerous in the dark.

Experts suggest that we should all sleep when the sun sets and wake when the sun rises, perhaps by using thick curtains to ensure that street lights don't disturb our sleep. This is not controversial for the most part, but many people don't know just how much lack of sleep can affect their lives. From heart disease to weight loss, lack of sleep has been scientifically shown to negatively affect almost all aspect of our health.

Weird, Ridiculous, or Mostly Common Sense?

Now that you know all about the Paleolithic diet and lifestyle, what do you think? Is eating more vegetables and fewer cookies ridiculous? How weird is it to suggest sleeping for 9 hours every night? Does it really defy common sense to exercise in ways that mirror movements we might need to use in our every-day lives?

Perhaps mirroring some aspects of the caveman lifestyle isn't so crazy after all. Cavemen may have died early due to a lack of medicines and many natural dangers, but they didn't die very often from cancers or diabetes-related illnesses. Many of our modern-day foods, exercises, and stresses combine to put our minds and bodies into situations that we simply were not designed to handle. Perhaps one day we will evolve to easily digest grains and work for 72 hours straight without sleeping, but sadly(?), that day has not yet come.

Halitosis: Bad Breath Solutions!

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

Halitosis, A.K.A, "bad breath" is something that everyone can relate to, at least every morning. But if your breath continues to offend throughout the day 24/7/365, then you may want to keep reading.

Halitosis: Bad Breath Solutions!

First of all, get with your dentist and make sure you don't have periodontal disease or any other type of underlying infection.

There are 6 areas of the body to investigate.

Teeth and gums: Book an exam with your dentist. Rule out periodontal disease and infections.

Sinuses: Sinuses can harbor bacteria and yeast. Excessive mucus will clear up for most people within 3-6 weeks when they switch to a Paleo type of eating program. Sinus problems can also be the source of post-nasal drip that can aggravate the bad breath issue. A 1999 Mayo Clinic study showed that Fungus/Yeast may be an underlying cause of chronic sinusitis and a strict Quantum Paleo program will support the condition from a dietary perspective. ( "Mayo Clinic Study Implicates Fungus As Cause Of Chronic Sinusitis." ScienceDaily, 10 Sep. 1999)

Throat: Chronic sore throat, tonsils, adenoids, coated "yeasty" tongue can all be the culprit. As you build health and clean up your diet these areas will improve. See the peroxide gargle tip below.

Digestion: Eating clean, healthy food is the key. Eliminate junk, additives, artificial sweeteners, dyes, coloring, transfats, grains, dairy and sugar.

Elimination: You must work towards moving your bowel daily, if not 2-3 times per day (optimal). A lot of bad breath issues will clear up once the person gets a handle on their underlying constipation.

Toxicity: Smoking, chewing tobacco, alcohol, foods and snacks with colors and chemicals are all items that can give you bad breath. Many pharmaceutical medications can dry out your mouth as a side effect. All of the above items can contribute to bad breath.

Very few patients have ever come into my office for a consult to discuss bad breath. They come in to lose weight, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, digestive disorders, natural hormone balance, etc. My intake paperwork filled out by the patient will sometimes clue me to the fact that halitosis may be a problem.

I always suggest to my patient to clean up their diet. I recommend that they try to go 3 weeks with zero grains, sugar and dairy.

It not only cleans up the body but helps you break the bad habits very quickly. I call the process, Restarting the Computer.

I often hear a patient remark that their halitosis clears up during the 21 days!

When you get the gut working correctly, the rest of the body benefits.

Getting off of sugar and grains are the main reason.

Here are some solutions and ideas to try.

1 Dentist- get checked.

2 Peroxide Gargle. Household hydrogen peroxide (3% solution). You can either do it straight up, or cut it 50:50 with water. Don't swallow. Gargle and spit it out. Then rinse your mouth out, and repeat. It will foam up a lot. But keep with it. Do this 2-3 times per day for a month. Then make a decision on the results.

3 Digestive enzymes with each meal. I prefer ones with Betaine HCl, it will have it on the label. This will help digest proteins especially and undigested proteins can putrefy and cause bad breath.

4 Start drinking water as your only beverage. No sugar drinks, no soda drinks. Just water. Drink a minimum of 2-3 liters per day. Dehydration can also cause bad breath.

5 Apple cider vinegar. 2 Tablespoons in 8oz. of H2O, 2-3 times daily for a month. This is an oldie but goodie. It will help digestion as well as so many other areas of your body too numerous to list.

Did I mention that the diet is important?

Dr. Doug

The Life of a CrossFitter - It's More Than Training, It's Eating Well!

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

Five rounds for time of 20 Double unders, 20 Wall ball, and 20 Burpees. Your heart is pounding; you can barely catch your breath. Keep going, you tell yourself, your almost there. Your legs are burning as you complete your last set of burpees. You yell, "Time!!" and can't help but fall to the ground. Shit... the fan is on the other side of the gym.

The Life of a CrossFitter - It's More Than Training, It's Eating Well!

The life of a CrossFitter is just that; you push yourself with not just all you've got, but more than what you've got. You move as fast as you can in your WOD's, but sometimes, it's not as fast as you would like. You add more weight to the bar, only to find you cannot lift what you thought you could. You look in the mirror at that extra layer of fat on your belly that is really only visible to you. However, your significant other tells you that you are a bonafied hottie. What the hell is going on here?

No matter what your goals are, whether it is to lose weight, get stronger, increase your athletic ability, get buff, or just decrease your times on your WOD's, you need good nutrition as a supplement to your training. Every single one of us will plateau in our training if we don't eat well. Simple as that. There's your answer.

The reason why eating well will keep you from hitting a plateau is because you will have more than enough energy to complete a WOD like Fran (21-15-9 Thrusters & Pull-ups). You will also be supplying your body with the perfect ratio of protein, carbohydrate, and fat, which will, in turn, allow your body to function at its optimum level as well as provide tons of energy. The result of eating well and high intensity exercise is a longer, healthier, happy life not to mention you will look your best and be in the best shape of your life. Let's not forget that one.

The phrase 'eating well' means something different to everybody. For some, it may mean not eating junk food or prepackaged food with preservatives. To others, it means eating a strict combination of the Paleo and Zone Diets.

The Paleo diet, which is based on the diet of 'Cavemen' in the Paleolithic era, is super simple: meat, vegetables, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar. The Zone diet is a low carbohydrate diet based on the glycemic index and your 'block' prescription. They are both very effective diets that become a lifestyle, rather than a yo-yo diet.

CrossFitters from all around the country have experienced the benefits of eating such a diet. Their times get better. They have more energy; they reach 375lb max deadlift PR for the first time; they lose that extra layer of belly fat for the first time in their lives. If they fall off the wagon for a week or two, they feel the effects immediately while completing a WOD.

So the next time you're struggling during a WOD, ask yourself, is CrossFit really all I need to reach my goals?

Get Rid of Lower Belly Fat With These 2 Simple Tips

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

Losing lower belly fat doesn't have to be complicated. There is a ton of advice out there and it can all be so confusing. I, however, like to keep things simple. Eating and exercise is no different. I wanted to find a way to eat that wouldn't leave me feeling hungry and a way to exercise that wouldn't require hours of my time. Counting calories, weighing food, and running on a treadmill aren't my idea of a fun way to lose weight. Let's face it, doing what is often suggested in diet books takes a lot of time.

Get Rid of Lower Belly Fat With These 2 Simple Tips

Doing my own research, I discovered ways to simplify eating and exercise that also produce the best results. Almost anyone can follow the following tips to achieve weight loss, of course it's recommended to consult with your doctor before making changes to your current eating and exercise plan.

Tip #1 - Simple way of eating: I have been reading about the paleo diet which is based on the eating habits of the cavemen (hunter-gatherers.) Losing lower belly fat and weight in general is fairly easy when eating this way. This is because the food that is eaten consists of meat, seafood, fresh vegetables, fruit (moderate amounts), nuts, and seeds. Food to be avoided include bread, rice, beans, cereal, wheat, sugar, and any processed foods (cake, cookies, pie, candy, etc.) Since you are cutting out simple carbs, our bodies then become accustomed to using our fat stores as energy, thus burning fat. Excess amounts of simple carbs are only stored as fat.

Tip #2 - Exercise efficiently: Unless you truly enjoy working out or have a specific purpose such as a bodybuilder, it isn't necessary to perform long exercise sessions in the gym or at home. Many people who start a workout program become cardio junkies spending a majority of their time on cardio machines like treadmills and ellipticals. Excessive amounts of cardio can cause our bodies to use muscle as energy. In order to prevent that, it's better to combing interval training with strength training. This way, you continue to build muscle and prevent burning it. A typical interval workout takes no more than 45 minutes and can be done a few times per week.

Changing your lifestyle with the two tips above saves time and you no longer have to concern yourself with counting calories, weighing food, or spending hours working out.

Why the Hype Around Paleo Foods and Weight Loss?

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

The Link between Weight Loss and Paleo Diet Foods

Why the Hype Around Paleo Foods and Weight Loss?

Most weight loss dieters are guilty of having attempted at least 5 fad diets. If not a diet consisting of a cruelly restricted eating regime then a sudden weight loss diet powder to be blended with either milk or water and taken once or twice a day in place of a meal.

For some dieters losing weight is an ongoing battle, however with the Paleo diet foods eating plan, weight loss is a natural process with the added bonus of a healthier lifestyle and added vitality. Grain, dairy, legumes and all related products are excluded from the Pale diet food plan.

Paleo foods or caveman foods were totally natural, organic, wild and seasonal, uncontaminated by preservatives, growth hormones, insecticides and the like. The caveman diet is the original diet designed by nature for the healthy development and care of mankind. The addition of chemicals, additives, flavour enhancers etc of modern day convenience foods results in disruption of the natural digestion and absorption of required nutrients. It is only since the advent of commercial farming, animal breeding and production of processed foods that excess gaining of weight appears to have become a problem and threat to human health.

Besides being used for healthy weight loss, the Paleo diet foods plan has been successful in treating a number of modern day ailments such as type 2 diabetes, allergies, asthma, irritable bowel syndrome, menopause, acne, arthritis and various other health disorders.

Eating unprocessed natural foods that are low in carbohydrate is a natural path to healthy weight loss. It is merely reverting back to an eating plan that was intended for the human body. Considering that today we are still 99.9% genetically related to our caveman ancestors it surely stands to reason that the diet that afforded them a healthy and robust life is the diet that we should still be embracing. There is no record of obese or overweight cavemen.

Firstly for the caveman to be able to eat there was no running down to the local supermarket refrigerator for convenience processed and pre-packed foods - it was lots of energetic foraging and hunting. Secondly the caveman was constantly hunting and gathering and therefore exercising. Initially when you set out on the Paleo eating plan with the change of diet you can expect a reasonable weight loss. There then could follow a levelling out or slowing down and it will take more effort eg exercising regularly and adequately. Weight loss will be regular and you can be assured that it will be fat and not muscle that you are losing. Excess fat is what we need to target and lose not muscle loss and with the Paleo diet plan it is exactly that which will be targeted.

Yes, to a degree, calories need to be watched but if you are sensible and portions are reasonable the weight loss will come automatically and naturally. Paleo food diets or the caveman diet is so totally natural to our body on this diet you will feel content and satisfied and cravings for starchy, greasy and sweet foods diminish and eventually disappear. Suddenly you are controlling your eating habits naturally and you are now eating to live and not living to eat.

No doubt you will have the odd gnawing hunger pang in between meals, mid-meal snacks are allowed just be sensible and have a snack from the Paleo foods list. The Paleo diet food plan is the intended eating regime designed by nature for the human body. On this plan your body will digest and metabolize the food to maximum efficiency. You find you that not only do you have more energy but you will be healthier, happier and slimmer.

The weight loss and Paleo diet plan is your solution to long term maintenance of fitness, health and vitality.

Good luck, enjoy - you will have no regrets!!

How to Enjoy the Paleo Lifestyle Through a Good Paleo Recipe

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

So you have decided to go into a Paleo diet after hearing about all the benefits that it can provide. Now the next challenge will be to look for ways that you can prepare a different Paleo recipe each day instead of eating the same thing over and over again until you can't stand it! Since this is quite a recent concept, you might wonder if there are really recipes for a Paleo diet.

How to Enjoy the Paleo Lifestyle Through a Good Paleo Recipe

If you are like other people, you might start out the diet with a lot of motivation. After all, who wouldn't be inspired by the prospect of losing weight and staying healthy? But eventually, it often happens that many people lose that inspiration and resort to their previous eating habits that are not only unhealthy but also destructive.

The solution of course is to look for a variety of Paleo recipes so that each meal won't be a bore. But this is a new concept, right? Is there really any available cookbooks designed just for a Paleo diet enthusiast?

The answer is a resounding yes! Due to the increasing popularity of the Paleo diet, cookbooks about the diet are starting to appear everywhere. You need not worry that you will have to eat mostly raw ingredients taken fresh from nature. Although the Paleo diet is derived from the age of cavemen, it has been modernized to fit the modern man and woman as well, so although the ingredients are fresh, they will surely be edible.

Now that you have your cookbook, it becomes easier to just choose a good recipe each day. You no longer have to suffer the same kind of meal every single day. It also helps you to choose meals in advance so that you will not only feel excited and look forward to trying the recipe but also, so that you stay on track and have meals prepared and ready.

If you are new to the whole Paleo cooking concept, you might be surprised to find that some of the more common ingredients are missing in the Paleo cookbook. Ingredients that you might be used to seeing in the kitchen such as rice, potatoes, dairy, grains and other processed foods are notably absent. You might feel like you need to throw out all of your ingredients and buy a new set of ingredients that are solely for making Paleo meals.

This is ideal, but of course it will be a total waste of money if you throw the available food out.

Before you start shopping for ingredients, check first if you have the following ingredients: meat, fish, eggs, vegetables, fruits, mushrooms and shellfish. These are foods that you can eat for the Paleo diet, but this is not a complete list. When you check a Paleo cookbook, you will find that you actually have quite a variety of choices when it comes to food in this Paleo diet.

It can be challenging to go into a new way of eating. But if you don't start now, you might find it harder, and probably even more expensive, to work on your health later on. Having a good guide to some of the best Paleo recipes can help minimize the chances of giving up too early in this caveman diet.

How to Lose Belly Fat Without Feeling Hungry Every Day

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

The reason most people are overweight is simply due to eating too much of the wrong types of foods. Over time, extra weight accumulates, particularly around our mid-section. This leaves us with ugly and unhealthy belly fat that seems difficult to get rid of.

How to Lose Belly Fat Without Feeling Hungry Every Day

We have to eat to survive but when we are faced with fast food and other processed foods that are readily convenient, it makes it hard to eat healthy and keep the weight off. Our diets can account for 80% of our weight loss. That means, even if you exercised daily, your efforts wouldn't be effective if you continue to eat poorly.

However, as soon as most people hear the word "diet" they immediately think that it will be hard to follow, they will always feel hungry, and that they'll give up after a week. Can you blame them? It's not a secret that most diets don't work. Who wants to feel hungry all the time? It's no wonder people give up so easily. Most diets leave you feeling hungry. How can you begin to eat less and still feel satisfied?

One method of eating that can leave you feeling full and help you lose weight is what is known as the paleolithic diet. It is also referred to as the caveman diet or the hunter-gatherer diet. Essentially, you will eat meat, vegetables, fruits, and nuts. You will stay away from grains and other processed foods.

It is very low-carb which is what makes it almost effortless to lose weight. Foods such as bread, pasta, and baked goods convert into sugar in our bodies. Excess sugar turns into fat. The average person eats these types of carbs several times per week if not more. You can see why weight gain occurs so quickly. Not to mention the carb bloat, insulin spikes, and the sleepy feeling often felt after eating a large amount of carbs.

The paleo diet leaves you feeling satisfied because you are also consuming good fats that our bodies need. Your food also tastes good because you aren't eating tasteless healthy food. It is real food that hasn't been processed and full of ingredients you cannot pronounce. You also have a wide range of options in terms of what to eat. There is no longer a need to feel like you are starving on a diet again.

Of course this way of eating isn't for everyone. Everyone's needs are different which is why I put together a web site that addresses various weight loss requirements.

What Is the Paleo Diet (Caveman Diet) and Can You Can Lose Weight on It?

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

The Paleo (short for Paleolithic) diet, also known as the Caveman Diet, may sound like a strange and faddy idea. Maybe it comes across as a bit too odd for you to give it a try. But really it's not as quirky as is may first appear - it's mostly about eating the kind of foods our ancestors ate, and that's important. In this article we'll find out why.

What Is the Paleo Diet (Caveman Diet) and Can You Can Lose Weight on It?

Not So Fast

Evolution is a slow process, at least as far as mere mortals like us are concerned. We evolved over a period of hundreds of thousands of years eating a particular kind of diet: one consisting mainly of protein and fat with, perhaps, a few carbohydrates from berries and starchy native plants. During the long era of 'hunter-gathering' we had not yet begun to grow our own crops for food. We had to rely on the foodstuffs that were available from the environment around us. In my part of the world (the Highlands of Scotland) that happened to be shellfish from the windswept, rocky coasts. And there is a great deal of evidence here in the form of 'shell middens' which are great piles of shells, discovered by archaeologists, heaped up outside the mouths of the caves where my distant ancestors once lived.

These hardy ancestors survived. We know this because, otherwise, we wouldn't be here to ponder the mysteries of their diet. It may have been a hard existence but we shouldn't assume this in all cases. There's a good chance that, in some parts of the world at least, food was abundant and readily available.

What's 'Paleo' All About?

Paleo, as I mentioned in the intro, is short for Paleolithic. It refers to the period very roughly 750,000 years ago up to about 15,000 years ago during which humans first began to make chipped-stone tools. The idea behind the so-called Paleo Diet is that we should eat the kind of foodstuffs that humans from that historical period ate. The reasoning behind this is that we have not yet evolved away from the adaption to the kinds of food they ate back then. 15,000 years really isn't long in evolutionary terms and it would be a big ask for humans to have been able to adapt completely to our very different modern diet within that time.

Sugar and Starch

If you think about human diet in the terms and over the timescales I've mentioned above you'll begin to see that large quantities of carbohydrate-rich food, containing lots of sugar and starch, are a recent addition. Perhaps it's the case, as advocates of low-carb and Paleo-type diets claim, that our bodies are just not adapted to deal with all this stodge. We assume that our ancestors didn't suffer greatly from problems of obesity because they had little food to eat and spent most of their time running about chasing it. But maybe that's just not true. In the places where food was readily available our ancestors may have led relatively sedentary lives. Maybe they didn't become obese because they were living on a diet to which they were properly and fully adapted.

What if we are now seeing the terrible consequences of this great dietary change in our modern epidemics of obesity, heart disease, diabetes and even cancer?

Facing Up & Losing Weight

Perhaps it's time to face up to the idea that our modern diet is nutritionally lacking. We assume that it's healthy for us to eat foodstuffs like bread and pasta because that's what we have been told for the last 40 or 50 years. But the research behind human diet is really in its infancy, so it's way too early to claim that we have all the answers.

Personally I would rather trust a diet that humans lived on for hundred of thousands of years than one they have lived on for perhaps just a couple of centuries. Maybe I'm just lucky in that I really love the kinds of foods you can eat on low-carb and Paleo diets. I know from around 8 years of personal experience that, when I switch back to a carbohydrate-heavy diet, my weight increases very rapidly. I can lose the weight again quickly when I switch back to Paleo. This isn't scientific evidence but it works for me.

I'm also lucky that I live right by the sea. I can go down to the beach, get some clams, cook them up, eat them, then throw the shells back down on the shore. I'm making my own little Paleolithic shell midden down there!

How to Achieve the Hollywood Physique of Your Favorite Celebrity

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

How would you like to achieve the physique of your dreams?

How to Achieve the Hollywood Physique of Your Favorite Celebrity

How many times have you heard that? Probably far too many, from all the fad diets and "ab machines" you see on TV. Those secret magic fat loss pills your sister bought with bright eyes full of hope, aren't really magic.

I'm not trying to be a downer here, but if you've ever wondered how the stars get their amazingly Adonis like physiques, know one thing: you're going to have to work at it. They did. And you're going to have to be disciplined. End of story.

That's not to say there aren't shortcuts. You will want to use the most of your time while exercising, and put the right things in your body in order to create that Hollywood Look. Grinding away on the treadmill for hours is not the way to do this, by the way. If you're looking to emulate the training and nutrition tactics used to get awesome results, keep reading.

Interval Circuit Training

There's a reason fitness models, elite level athletes and actors use circuit training as a large part of their fitness regimens; they are brutally effective at burning fat and strengthening existing muscle. They aren't the best for building muscle, but excess muscle is undesirable anyway, when going for that slim and toned look. Remember, definition is the key ingredient here, far overpowering the need for massive size. That's why high intensity circuits are so darn effective.

I'm going to show you my current favorite circuit training routine. You won't need fancy equipment here. Nope, one of the awesome things about this (and many other circuit routines) is that it requires very little equipment, not much space, and is thus very versatile as far as where and when you can complete this workout.

You will need one moderately heavy dumbbell, as well as a pair of lighter dumbbells. Oh and did I mention this workout is great for men and women alike? It will burn fat and tone muscle - Great news for both genders. For men, I recommend a 30 lb dumbbell and a pair of 15 lb dumbbells, whereas women should use a 20 lb heavy dumbbell and maybe a pair of 8 lb dumbbells. This at least, is a good starting point. Adjust accordingly.

This workout will utilize basically every muscle in your body, including ones you may not yet know exist (you will be sore the next day). It is designed to increase muscular strength and tone while improving your overall physical stamina. If gaining a ton of lean mass is your current goal, you can still implement this workout into your program, but it will be used to supplement your normal weight training workouts.

- Total-body interval circuit, lasting 41 minutes total
- You perform 10 different exercises back-to-back, and repeat twice for a total of 3 rounds
- Each exercise is performed for 1 minute. You get 15 seconds rest between exercises. After the 10 exercise circuit is completed, you get 2 minutes rest before starting over from the beginning again. Then repeat once more for a total of 3
- Reps need not be counted, but rest as little as possible. Try and work your way up to completing the workout without any stopping, except during scheduled rest periods
- This workout is very demanding. Beginners should modify the movements and perhaps reduce the time

The 10 exercises go as follows:

1. Goblet Squat, heavier dumbbell
2. Mountain Climbers
3. Single-arm DB Swing, lighter dumbbell, 30 seconds each arm
4. T-Pushups, alternating, lighter dumbbells
5. Split Jumps
6. Bentover DB Row, lighter dumbbells
7. DB Side-lunge and Touch, lighter dumbbells, 30 seconds each side
8. Renegade Rows, alternating, lighter dumbbells
9. Forward-lunge and Twist, heavier dumbbell
10. DB Military press, lighter dumbbells

This workout demands a lot of core and leg movements. If you're not currently working out your legs consistently, prepare for a rude awakening the following morning!

As mentioned above, mass-building is not the main result from this style of workout. If this doesn't matter to you and your focus is solely muscular definition, Workout Routine A will chisel you the quickest. If you want to partition your efforts and build mass while also toning, go with Workout Routine B.

Workout A
Mon: Chest/Back
Tues: "INTERVAL ROUTINE"
Wed: Shoulders
Thur: "INTERVAL ROUTINE"
Fri: Arms, bi's and tri's
Sat: "INTERVAL ROUTINE"
Sun: REST DAY

Workout B
Mon: Chest
Tues: Back
Wed: "INTERVAL ROUTINE"
Thur: Legs
Fri: Shoulders
Sat: "INTERVAL ROUTINE"
Sun: REST DAY

There are many benefits to reap from incorporating this workout into your routine. It's extremely effective at leaning out and dropping body fat. It's also a full body workout, which is underrated in today's fitness world. It's also a great alternative to the treadmill or other less entertaining forms of cardio. As above, the only real drawback comes into play for those who are super concerned with packing on a bunch of mass. Heavy resistance training is the best route to that goal, which typically, intervals won't offer.

The Lean Muscle Nutrition Plan

Although exercise is a critical component, diet will account for about 80% of what your body eventually looks like. I know it isn't nearly as flashy or thrilling as the exercise portion, but what you put in your mouth will determine whether you can achieve the leanness necessary for this Adonis look or not. I'm going to recommend you choose the Paleo style of eating, which I have personally found to be the most effective way to lose fat at alarming rates.

Paleo is actually quite simple. Most importantly we are cutting out refined sugars and carbohydrates. This allows our bodies to keep insulin levels incredibly stable, as refined and processed carbs are the main cause of fluctuating insulin levels (which promotes fat storage). You are allowed to eat anything basically you would have found in nature, which is why it's also known as the Caveman Diet. Lean meats and vegetables should be the mainstay the the diet. Fruit and nuts are encouraged as well, but in moderation.

There are some other very useful tactics you can use to expedite your fat loss endeavors even faster. Intermittent Fasting is a great example.

Paleo Sample Meal Plan

Breakfast - Big omelet, including yolks, with ground beef and spinach, salsa on top
Mid Morning - Almond butter spread on an apple or banana
Lunch - Roasted chicken thighs, broccoli with slivered almonds
Afternoon - Spinach salad with olive oil and diced chicken breast
Dinner - Sirloin steak, mashed yams w/ cinnamon and coconut butter, broiled asparagus
Dessert - Fruit salad with agave syrup

So there you have it. The training and nutrition plan to achieve a body even your favorite star would envy! Give it a try for a few weeks and I guarantee you'll notice results, or your money back:)

Healthy Diet Recipes Are the Way to Overall Health

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

The number of people who are currently overweight or clinically obese continues to grow every day, and if you find that you have joined the ranks of the millions of Americans who are trying to control their ever-growing girth, then it may be time to try healthy diet recipes in your own kitchen.

Healthy Diet Recipes Are the Way to Overall Health

One of the worst things that has happened over the past two generations it that fast food is now an accepted dining choice for most families. What used to be a treat that a family would have once a month is now a normal meal, and often times it is a daily meal. What makes matters worse is that the average portion size served at the major fast food restaurants has literally doubled over the past ten years.

If you find that you don't have time to cook, you might want to re-think this. There is always time to make healthy diet recipes, many of which you can make at the beginning of the week and refrigerate or freeze for a later date. This is actually a less time-consuming and certainly a lot more affordable option to sitting in a fast food drive-through line.

Of course, eating healthy diet recipes is not just about losing weight. Yes, you will find that when you start eating natural foods at home that everyone in your house begins to lose weight, but you will also notice an increase in energy and overall fitness. The advantages of eating foods that aren't highly processed, deep fried, or saturated with artificial colorings and flavorings go well beyond your waistline.

Cooking natural, healthy, and fresh food is much easier than you think and with the help of a good recipe book, you will find that it is some of the tastiest food you or your family has ever eaten.

The Grape Diet - Cleanse Your Body and Lose Weight

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

The grape diet is a safe, natural way to lose between 5-10 pounds in 5 or 6 days.

The Grape Diet - Cleanse Your Body and Lose Weight

This is not just another of those fad diets that keep cropping up, it's about the grape diet which is a proven and exceptional way of losing weight quickly and getting healthy. You may already be familiar with this method of losing weight because it has been around for quite some time now.

Basil Shackleton wrote about The Grape Cure after suffering from kidney failure. In pain for the best part of 40 years, he discovered that simply by eating nothing but grapes, his deteriorating kidney was restored.

So where does the weight loss come in?

Well, really it was a side effect of his "grape treatment." Skackleton wrote that he ate nothing but grapes for three weeks, and never felt better in his life. He proclaimed that if you eat only grapes for five days, you will lose at least 5lbs.

The world got to know of the amazing health benefits of grapes by Johanna Brandt, who publicised The Grape Cure in 1926 in the United States, after spending some time in South Africa. Her publication highlighted the nutritional and healing qualities of grapes, which She used to treat her own cancer.

Since then the grape diet has been used in many countries around the world, not only as a natural way to lose weight fast, but for detoxing the body as well. The success of the grape cure diet is mainly due to the grape skins and seeds.

The skins contain Resveratrol, a natural aid for weight loss, and the grape seed extract contains nutrients that help clean the blood and kidneys, fight cancer, arthritis, and are good for the heart. Modern science supports these claims, and people who have tried the grape diet reported weight loss, feeling better, having more energy, and needing less sleep.

How to Lose 1 Pound a Day With "This Diet"

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

So how do you lose 1 pound a day with "this" diet? Well first off the special diet is called calorie shifting. It is a unique diet that automatically causes the body to raise metabolism and fat burning and keep it high, causing rapid weight loss. In most cases people who try calorie shifting lose 1 pound a day or more. Best of all the weight stays off for months afterwards. So forget everything you were ever brainwashed into believing about dieting, because this diet breaks every single rule.

How to Lose 1 Pound a Day With "This Diet"

What makes calorie shifting so unique is that it doesn't require what most diets do and that is strict regimes, depriving yourself of foods and many others. This diet allows you to eat almost any foods you wish. How is that possible? Well the secret behind the weight loss effect of this diet isn't what you eat, but HOW you eat.

Calorie shifting involves eating up to 4 or more meals a day, changing the order in which you eat them, making sure every meal has different calorie values and drinking 10 glasses of water a day. You can eat meals such as scrambled eggs, baked beans, tuna salad, bacon, sausage, chicken and more. It's not as difficult as it sounds. But what happens when perform the above technique is that the body will have a reflex triggered that will make it increase metabolism and fat burning.

It will do this because of the fact that you will be eating 4 or more meals, forcing it to work more. And because you will keep shifting the amount of calories you eat every meal, you will confuse your body, making it wonder how many calories to burn the next time you eat (The body adjusts metabolism according to your eating habits). And because it will not know how much to burn during your next meal, it will automatically try to keep things safe and raise metabolism.

Although this dieting technique sounds like a difficult concept to grasp, it isn't. Simply put, this diet unleashes a secret weight loss potential in your body that is more quick and effective than exercise and conventional dieting. So if you're wondering how to lose 1 pound a day, then consider calorie shifting because it is arguably the best solution for this!

The 500 Calorie Diet - Diets For Quick Weight Loss

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

Engaging in diets for quick weight loss can be very dangerous. But, if you don't mind taking risks with your health, the 500 calorie diet might be right for you. Keep in mind, that even when considering diets for quick weight loss, the 500 calorie diet is a very extreme form of dieting. Even so, it tends to be extremely popular.

The 500 Calorie Diet - Diets For Quick Weight Loss

The reason for the popularity, obviously, is that you will lose weight quickly. Low-calorie diets abound among people who are looking for quick weight loss. But even among those low-calorie diets, 500 calories per day is at the low end of the spectrum.

First, for a definition...For a diet to be considered low calorie, the arbitrary cutoff point is 1200 calories per day. Anything below that is considered to be a low-calorie diet. Clearly the whole idea of a low-calorie diet is to lose weight quickly, but again - it can be quite dangerous so it should always be thoroughly planned with a nutritionist or your family doctor.

It's well known that the best way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you eat. You can do this by burning more, or by eating less. Your body needs a certain number of calories just to exist. If you're not eating enough, the theory is that your energy needs will be taken from the fat calories in your body.

The problem is, our body is very smart. It won't just keep burning the same number of calories and taking the excess from fat. Your body doesn't know that you are on a diet. It will think you're starving. To help keep you alive, it will cut way back on the number of calories that uses. To do this it will slow down your metabolic rate and will start eating away at your muscle mass - to get it's needed calories.

Over a long-term, this is disastrous. Your muscles burn far more calories than your fat, so if you lose them, it not only has a bad effect on your body but it also affects your ability to keep weight off in the future. The 500 calorie diet, as one of the diets for quick weight loss - works... but only for a short term.

The negative effects can vary depending on your body type, height, activity level, overall health and gender. 500 calories per day may be sufficient for some people for a short while.

For the vast majority of us, especially if we are carrying extra weight, eating only 500 calories per day is literally starving our bodies. Most likely, you've been taking in 2000 to 5000 (or more) calories per day and suddenly dropping to 500 will immediately move your body into starvation mode. So, your metabolism slows way down in order to conserve energy.

Our bodies are quite adaptable. In a very short time you will learn to survive on 500 calories per day. (At least until you run out of calories to burn...then you'll go into a coma and die.)

Thankfully, the majority of us discontinue our dieting before that happens. As soon as your diet is over, and you go back to your old eating habits - like we all do - you will have a sudden gain in weight. Actually, you'll gain more weight than you would have, had you not ever gone on a diet to begin with. Diets for quick weight loss just don't work. Plus, since you have lost so much muscle mass, it makes it much harder to maintain your weight in the future.

The most effective method of determining a healthy, livable daily calorie level, is by using a BMR/AMR calculator. It will tell you how many calories are necessary to support your health and your lifestyle. Once you know how many calories you need to maintain your weight, then you can subtract 500 calories per day, and you have one of the ideal diets for quick weight loss success.

Obviously, the mass and body size of women is dramatically different than that of men. That means, they need a different number of calories to survive. While the average man may eat 1500 to 1600 calories per day, the average woman may eat only 1200 to 1300 calories per day. You must consult your physician before starting any diet, safety has to come first.

So, to wrap it up... in the realm of diets for quick weight loss, the 500 calorie per day diet is very popular. It will work to help you lose weight, but it can be very dangerous - And your weight loss is only temporary at best. You should never cut back that dramatically on your calories without the constant monitoring and supervision of a doctor.

Diet Tips - Five Easy Ways to Lose Weight Fast!

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

Many people hate the idea of rigid diets - the good news is that if follow the five proven weight loss tips below, you will lose weight easily.

Diet Tips - Five Easy Ways to Lose Weight Fast!

The diet tips require no real willpower and can improve anyone's diet and chances of healthy weight control.

1. Drink Water

One of the most effective diet tips is to drink plenty of water. In fact, water is possibly the single most important catalyst in losing weight and keeping it off.

Water acts as a natural appetite suppressant by keeping your stomach full and fending off dehydration that leads to hunger cravings. Water also provides the additional benefit of flushing out toxins from the body and keeping it hydrated.

Water also helps your body metabolize stored fat by helping the kidneys flush out waste. When you don't drink enough water the liver that works to provide stored fat for energy also takes on the role of helping the kidneys eliminate waste and thus becomes less effective at metabolizing fat.

2. Eat Breakfast

Many people believe one of the best diet tips is skipping breakfast, as it will help them lose weight, this is totally incorrect. Skipping breakfast can make you hungrier later in the day leading to distorted satiety signals (i.e. it's hard to determine when you're full). This can actually result in eating more as a result.

If you don't have time to eat breakfast or don't like to, at least have a liquid meal to fuel your body after sleeping and having no nutrition for several hours.

3. Increase Fibre Intake

Eating lots of foods rich in fibre helps keep food moving through your bowels. Just like water, fiber rich foods bulk you up and make you feel full. In fact, the average person could lose around 10 pounds a year just from doubling their fiber intake.

High fiber foods are generally low in calories and fill you up, so eating more of them means you're eating fewer calories and leaving less room for calories from other foods. Fiber also cuts calories by attaching itself to some of the other proteins and fats that you eat and eliminates them as well.

The average person consumes about 8g of fiber per day, but many experts recommend 25g. Start your day with a high fiber cereal and keep eating fibre throughout the day.

4. Eat Healthy Fats

Many experts claim that fat causes obesity, raises your cholesterol and causes heart disease, but this is not strictly true. If fat is all that bad, why is it part of our natural diet chain? The reason is fat can be very good for you.

Fat provides the body with essential fatty acids (linoleic and linolenic acids) needed for normal reproduction and growth, as well as for production of prostaglandin, a hormone like compound that regulates blood pressure, blood clotting, and inflammation.

When eating fats you should eat healthy fats. Eating "healthy" fats includes the cold-water fish, mackerel and salmon, nuts, and olive oil. By eating healthy fats over unhealthy ones you will lose weight.

5. Lean Protein

Protein is a great weight control tool because of the immediate satiety factor and because it keeps you full for longer periods. It also balances out carbs by preventing insulin spikes that can lead to a drain in energy and sugar cravings.

Protein also helps maintain muscle mass, which is very important in the fat burning process. At least 20% of calories should be in the form of protein.

Ways to Lose 15 Pounds Fast - The Best Tips You Will Ever Find

Ways To Lose 15 Pounds Fast

Ways to Lose 15 Pounds Fast - The Best Tips You Will Ever Find

Below are some of the best tips I gathered from the web looking for ways to lose 15 pounds fast. It works well, in my personal opinion, since I used to be a slave of my own weight and tried different ways to lose it. By taking one step at a time and being self disciplined with my weight loss program I achieved the ideal weight for my height and age (I used to be 31 lbs over the average weight for my age group!) I cut at least 15 pounds from what I used to be.

• Cut all the fats in your protein.

This was the ultimate sacrifice for me since I'm a meat lover and a happy eater of fats! There was a day that I felt I can't go on without eating even just a slice of meat, with all its fatty tissue where lard is obtained. And I know I'm not alone here. When I was told about the risks of taking too much fats, I knew it right then that I needed to find ways to lose pounds fast. Just any ways to lose 15 pounds fast would be music to my ears!

• Focus on eating only natural, clean-burning foods.

This is easy! Vegetables, fruits, fish and sugar-free diet! And more water.

• A Glass of Lime Juice with Honey Daily.

This helps in the detoxification process and boosting up metabolism. This is a common concoction among Asians and known for its health benefits.

• Eating Paleo-style or South Beach Recipes.

Penne with Eggplant; a personal favorite.

• Exercise. Exercise. And more Exercise.

Every time I hear this word exercise, girls in neon tights and rhythmic moves comes to mind - until I was reminded about jogging, biking and swimming. Exercise is not limited to bending, jumping and stretching alone. Walking is one form of exercise; 45 minutes a day will do. The main purpose of exercise is to burn those calories and convert your fats into muscles if you want to get your body in shape.

Instead of skipping meals, swap your food and boost your metabolism. Starvation diet is not advisable and it's not one of the best ways to lose 15 pounds fast. Our bodies must burn more calories to lose fat and our body uses most of the calories for energy when we eat, if we eat more calories than our body's usage, it will then be stored as fat. So some weight loss diets advise us to skip our regular food in order to cut down the calories' intake. The fact is, although we will lose weight if we do not consume enough calories per day... But on the other hand, we will also lose energy...

Increasing your metabolism will help your body to process food faster and help to store less fat in your body.

To sum it all up, one of the best ways to lose 15 pounds fast is to keep your metabolism at work. We can still take the same amount of food as long as it's low in fat and sugar-free. =)

Learn How the Cave Men Kept a Lean Healthy Body

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

The so-called cave man diets are pretty much on track for being good guides for healthy eating. These "Paleo" plans are similar to the diets I promote for body building because they help you get lean. Similar to dietary programs competitors use, these diets leave out unnatural and processed foods to favor lean meat, vegetables, and nuts. Eliminating foods with high caloric density will speed the process of eliminating fat.

Learn How the Cave Men Kept a Lean Healthy Body

Natural lean meat together with nuts and vegetables will always add up to a lean body. Do I have to mention that cave men never drank Cokes or ate at McDonald's?

The idea behind the cave man diet is to cater to our natural genetic predisposition. A lot of the health problems we have now were unheard of back in the caves.

This is because people had to eat natural food.

If we eat like our ancestors, we are sure to be healthier and less obese. All these things we have now to make people fat like frozen dinners, corn syrup, white sugar, chemicals, processed oils, and preservatives are at the root of our obesity epidemic.

The only reservation I have with cave man diets is that I don't think it's necessary to remove all starch and grain.

As long as the starches and grains are naturally produced, I'm OK. In fact athletes who need to expend loads of energy need starch carbs and grains from natural sources in order to be competitive.

It's hard to condemn things like natural oat meal and sweet potatoes!

Other than that, you will find that cave man diets address the serious issues we face in our modern society.

To further enhance the benefits of this kind of diet, you should study metabolism and appropriate eating as well. To sum it all up, if your food is manmade you shouldn't eat it!

Three Things You Need to Know to Be Successful in the Paleo Diet

,
Paleo Diet To Lose Weight :

Are you thinking about starting the Paleo diet? If so, you need to be aware of the three common pitfalls that new Paleo dieters make when undertaking this diet. These are: not realizing their calorie intake, eating too much fat, and not taking enough protein. By committing these mistakes, people will actually gain weight instead of losing it.

Three Things You Need to Know to Be Successful in the Paleo Diet

Not eating enough protein

Since the Paleo diet is another variation of a low-carb diet, you need to make sure that you're in taking enough calories to make up for the loss of carbohydrates. If you don't take enough calories, you will become tired, sick, and moody.

To combat this, the individual should be aware of the amount of excess protein that they need to intake each day so that they are reaching their required daily needs.

Eating too much fat

The second biggest mistake of newbies make is the amount of fat they are eating each day. Due to the fact that you're eating a lot of protein, people may feel very very hungry quickly. To fix this, they tell you to intake more fat into your diet. Unfortunately, each gram of fat is equal to 9 calories. So, by eating a bag of nuts, or other fat sources you could be reaching your calorie intake for the day.

Calorie intake

To lose weight with any diet program it's all about the calories that you intake. The Paleo diet is not an exception to this rule. In fact, if you eat more calories than what you are burning each day you will gain weight.. If your eating high-protein breakfasts, lunches, and dinner you may be exceeding the amount of calories you need. Remember, it's not about the type of macronutrient that you're eating, it's about how many calories that you are taking each day.

Knowing that a calorie isn`t just a calorie will separate you from being successful on the Paleo diet, and not. So watch the amount of fat that you intake as it`s double the amount of a calorie that protein and carbohydrates are.

Now that you know the three pitfalls that people go through when starting the Paleo diet, you will have a better chance of success by knowing these three tips. Failure of not following one of these tips will lead to less than desirable results. So remember choose enough proteins, don't intake much fat, and watched the amount of calories that you intake each day.
